<image:caption>As Board Certified Family Physicians, we can work with you to manage acute diseases as well as chronic conditions, and stay healthy. Our patients are interested in optimizing their health and looking for a partner in that endeavor. This partnership truly applies to everyone -- from the people who are classically healthy and want to remain so, to the people with numerous chronic conditions and wanting a fresh look at their disease burden, to the people who haven't yet found a provider who listens long enough to find a diagnosis and treatment plan.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Wouldn’t it be nice if your Primary Care Physician could discuss Nutrition and Exercise with you beyond telling you to “eat right and stay active”? We will take the time to discuss these crucial lifestyle factors in the context of Preventive Heath or management of any Chronic Disease.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Claudia W. Heise, MD/PhD (pictured at right)</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a Board Certified Family Doctor, meaning I’ve been trained in care for people of all ages and on all walks of life. I’m also certified in Integrative Medicine, which incorporates a holistic approach to health. My additional special interests include Preventive Health, Chronic Conditions (Diabetes, Heart Disease, COPD), Pediatric/Adolescent Health, Sexual and Transgender Health, Mental Health including Addiction and Eating Disorders, and Immigrant Health. Outside of clinic, I enjoy baking, exploring near and far, and gardening. I was born in New York, grew up in New England, earned a Medical Doctorate as well as a PhD (Neuroscience) in the Midwest, and have been proud to call Maine my home since I moved here for residency at Maine Medical Center in 2013. After residency I had the privilege to serve on Mercy / Northern Light’s Primary Care team for over 3 and a half years before deciding it was time to try something smaller. Please explore my website; if you have any questions, feel free to call. Kristen Scopaz, MD (picture coming soon) After honing my skills and working 10 years for a large health system, I was looking for a change to work in a smaller setting, and so have been excited to join Dr. Heise. I am Board Certified in Family Medicine and enjoy taking care of all ages from babies to older adults. My approach to medicine is to get to know you as a whole person, and then partner in your health care to help you reach your goals. I am also Board Certified in Sports Medicine with a special interest in treating musculoskeletal concerns and keeping you active, which is an important part of health. I grew up in suburban New York, did my undergraduate studies in New Hampshire where I played collegiate sports, ventured to Pittsburgh for medical school and residency training, and then headed back to New England for my Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship and decided to stay in Maine since then. Outside of clinic, I enjoy biking, skiing, yoga, gardening, puzzles, and spending time with family.</image:caption>
